The genesis of Marvis

Marvis is now almost world famous as an Italian lifestyle product. Much is not known about the original story of the Marvis brand. Marvis, like so many luxury products, comes from Italy and embodies the Italian lifestyle that stands for Dolce Vita, elegance and luxury. The toothpaste with the eye-catching packaging comes from the city of Florence. There, Earl Franco Cella di Rivara registered in 1958 the Marvis brand. His idea was to create a toothpaste that was designed especially for smokers with an intense minty taste. Classic Strong Mint Toothpaste was the first product from Marvis and has remained the strongest selling point of the entire product range to this day.

Following the great success of Classic Strong Mint, Marvis' range of other toothpastes with innovative flavors that soon became popular emerged. The name Marvis is said to have originated from the Latin words Marvel (miracle) + Vis (strength). The company first gained notoriety in the 1970s, when Marvis became more and more known as an effective aid to smokers. But then Marvis fell into oblivion after some time. That changed only when Ludovico Martelli Srl bought the brand in 1997. Martelli's company was founded in 1908 as a cosmetics company also in Florence. With the original formulas, the Marvis brand has now been positioned as a luxury product in its industry. And from Italy began gradually entering the countries of the world.
