The seed shells of the Indian psyllium (Plantago ovata) come from controlled organic cultivation and have a high content of soluble and very well swellable dietary fiber.

But what are "dietary fibers" actually?
Although dietary fibers are indigestible fibers for humans, which are mainly found in plant foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts or whole grain products, they do not "burden" the body, but support, among other things, a healthy digestion!
Psyllium husks are a very good source of dietary fiber with a special property: the mucilage contained in the husks has a very high swelling capacity, which can swell many times over in the digestive tract. Another advantage of psyllium husks is the low amount of calories, so they are also ideal for healthy weight loss. Why does the product contain Indian psyllium husks?
Psyllium husks can come from different cultivation areas. Psyllium husks "Plantago afra" are native to Southern Europe, North Africa as well as Western Asia. Shells with the designation "Plantago indica" come from Southern and Central Europe, the Caucasus and Siberia.
The "Plantago ovata" psyllium husks used by Doppelherz in pure organic quality are grown in India and Pakistan. Indian psyllium husks have a particularly high quality, because the swelling capacity of Plantago ovata is higher than other varieties.
Psyllium husks are a natural product and are harvested by hand and gently dried. A special process enables the separation of seeds and hulls, thus ensuring a product with a particularly high swelling volume.
Of course, we pay attention to possible impurities in our products: Regular laboratory tests and analyses take place from the harvest to the finished product in order to offer the usual high Doppelherz quality.
The entire supply chain from production to packaging and marketing is carried out in accordance with EU legislation on organic farming and has been certified accordingly by an approved organic inspection body. Consumption of Doppelherz pure organic psyllium husks

The company history of Queisser Pharma
The company Queisser Pharma can look back on more than 100 years of company history. Comprehensive knowledge about health has a long tradition here.
The history of Queisser Pharma begins in 1897 in a small pharmaceutical factory in Hamburg. The graduate pharmacist Alfred Queisser had come from Lusatia in the district of Dresden to Hamburg to make his fortune as a manufacturer. He focused on the production of health and care products such as creams, liquid soap and toothpaste. Despite difficult circumstances, Alfred Queisser managed to continuously expand the company. He owed this to his extensive talents as a businessman, scientist and imaginative advertising expert, whom he united in one person.
The second root of today's Queisser Pharma was created by the Essen pharmacist Josef Peter Hennes. In 1919, he developed the original formula of today's Doppelherz® energy tonic from herbs and other natural ingredients. The tonic was produced and successfully marketed in the eponymous company founded by him.
Both houses eventually merged into "Queisser Pharma", which has been part of HGDF Familienholding Ltd. since the end of the 1970s. & Co. KG, a long-established Flensburg family business, whose parent company was founded in 1738 in Flensburg.

Since 1987, Queisser Pharma has its headquarters in Flensburg in the former production areas of a Rumherstellung. In addition to other brand products from Queisser, about 1 million liters of Doppelherz energy tonic are produced, bottled, packed and shipped in line with the market.
