The company history of Queisser Pharma
The company Queisser Pharma can look back on more than 100 years of company history. Comprehensive knowledge about health has a long tradition here.
The history of Queisser Pharma begins in 1897 in a small pharmaceutical factory in Hamburg. The graduate pharmacist Alfred Queisser had come from Lusatia in the district of Dresden to Hamburg to make his fortune as a manufacturer. He focused on the production of health and care products such as creams, liquid soap and toothpaste. Despite difficult circumstances, Alfred Queisser managed to continuously expand the company. He owed this to his extensive talents as a businessman, scientist and imaginative advertising expert, whom he united in one person.
The second root of today's Queisser Pharma was created by the Essen pharmacist Josef Peter Hennes. In 1919, he developed the original formula of today's Doppelherz® energy tonic from herbs and other natural ingredients. The tonic was produced and successfully marketed in the eponymous company founded by him.
Both houses eventually merged into "Queisser Pharma", which has been part of HGDF Familienholding Ltd. since the end of the 1970s. & Co. KG, a long-established Flensburg family business, whose parent company was founded in 1738 in Flensburg.
Queisser Pharma today
Since 1987, Queisser Pharma has its headquarters in Flensburg in the former production areas of a Rumherstellung. In addition to other brand products from Queisser, about 1 million liters of Doppelherz energy tonic are produced, bottled, packed and shipped in line with the market.
Queisser Pharma is guided by tradition and at the same time modern - with much grown experience and specialist knowledge, modern and innovative health products are regularly created.
Demand for health products has been increasing for many decades. Our headquarters in Flensburg has therefore been continuously adapted and expanded to meet the steadily growing popularity. Do you know your omega-3 level (omega-3 index)?
Compared to many other nutrients, the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA are real all-rounders. Accordingly, they are frequently studied by scientists. There are now numerous studies on their properties.
The majority of these studies examine the influence of omega-3 fatty acids on the heart and circulation - including blood vessels. Others focus on the eyes and brain - after all, both are largely made up of omega-3 fatty acids.
Recent research has also focused on the importance of EPA and DHA for the course of pregnancy and the development of the unborn, infants and children.
For some people, the supply sometimes falls too short
Nutrition experts recommend that people of all ages eat fish more often than steak for the sake of their health.
Just one slice of smoked salmon provides the recommended amount of 300 mg of omega-3 fatty acids per day for healthy adults. Nevertheless the supply with
the valuable nutrients turns out sometimes too scarcely. This is confirmed not only by statistics on the eating habits of the German population but also by recent studies in which the omega-3 levels, or HS omega-3 index (HS = high sensitivity), of the participants were measured.
This method is considered to be particularly meaningful because the supply status and thus the individual requirement also depend on genetic predisposition and other lifestyle and eating habits. The results of the tests are striking:
According to the results, the omega-3 levels of more than three quarters of all Europeans are not optimal.1
To measure omega-3 levels, a small blood sample is taken. Specialized laboratories determine the EPA and DHA content in the red blood cells, which is considered representative of the content of other tissues and organs.
In the "green zone," values of the omega-3 index range from 8 to 11 percent. However, most people have lower levels and could potentially jump-start their health by increasing their intake of the nutrient.
The person to contact for testing is your treating physician. In addition, easy-to-use home self-tests are available.
However, the determination of the HS-Omega-3 index is not part of the routine examinations in this country, so that patients with health insurance have to bear the costs of about 70
euros themselves.
