Flohsamenschalen – Multitalent für eine gesunde Ernährung
Indische Flohsamenschalen (Plantago ovata) sind reich an gesunden Ballaststoffen. Doch was sind "Ballaststoffe" eigentlich?
Zunächst einmal ist dieser Name wörtlich genommen nicht richtig. Ballaststoffe sind für den Menschen zwar unverdauliche Fasern, die vorwiegend in pflanzlichen Lebensmitteln wie Obst, Gemüse, Nüssen oder Vollkornprodukten vorkommen, allerdings „belasten“ sie den Körper nicht, sondern unterstützen unter anderem eine gesunde Verdauung!
Flohsamenschalen sind eine sehr gute Ballaststoffquelle mit einer besonderen Eigenschaft: Die in den Schalen enthaltenen Schleimstoffe haben ein sehr hohes Quellvermögen, die im Verdauungstrakt auf ein Vielfaches aufquellen können. Dies führt ganz schonend zu einem erhöhten Stuhlvolumen und einer Anregung der Darmbewegungen – die Verdauung wird so ganz natürlich unterstützt.
Ein weiterer Vorteil der Flohsamenschalen ist die geringe Menge an Kalorien, daher sind sie auch bestens geeignet für ein gesundes Abnehmen. Ballaststoffe aus Flohsamen wirken sättigend und liefern dabei kaum Kalorien. Da sie aber das Volumen im Magen-Darm-Trakt erhöhen, können sie quälende Hungergefühle dämpfen.
Flohsamenschalen lassen den Blutzuckerspiegel aufgrund der vielen Ballaststoffe nur langsam ansteigen. Heißhungerattacken können so vermieden werden und ein angenehmes Sättigungsgefühl lässt uns automatisch weniger essen!
Indische Flohsamenschalen (Plantago ovata) – natürlich ballaststoffreich!
Die Flohsamenpflanze ist ein einjähriger, niedrig wachsender Strauchwegerich. Die Blätter wachsen schmal, die Blüten stehen in kurzen dichten Ähren und sind mit vielen feinen Härchen versehen. Die feinen Samenschalen der Heilpflanze werden als Flohsamenschalen bezeichnet.
Vorzugsweise wächst die Pflanze in Indien, Iran, Pakistan und dem nordafrikanischem Raum. Die deutsche Bezeichnung „Flohsamen“ haben sie erhalten, da bei reifen Pflanzen die kleinen Samen aus der Fruchtkapsel herausspringen – und dies erinnert an das Hüpfen von Flöhen.
Im Handel sind ganze Flohsamen zu erhalten oder aber nur die Flohsamenschalen. Eigentlich benötigt man nur die äußere Schale, denn hier befinden sich die gut löslichen Ballaststoffe (Schleimstoffe), die in Verbindung mit Flüssigkeiten aufquellen.
Werden nur die Schalen in Verbindung mit Wasser verwendet, können sie auf mehr als das 50-fache des Eigengewichtes binden! Aufgrund dieser überragenden Quelleigenschaften werden nur die Schalen der Flohsamen oftmals bevorzugt.
Des Weiteren sind Flohsamenschalen glutenfrei, lactosefrei und haben einen neutralen Geschmack. Da sie bei ausreichender Flüssigkeitszufuhr sehr gut verträglich sind, sind sie zur längerfristigen Anwendung geeignet, auch für Diabetiker.
Die Einnahme der Flohsamenschalen kann unterschiedlich gehandhabt werden. Manche Menschen geben sie mit in einen Joghurt, einen Eiweiß-Shake oder auf einen Salat, andere wiederum rühren 2-mal täglich 1 gehäuften Teelöffel in Wasser, Tee oder Schorlen. Wichtig ist es aber immer, anschließend 1-2 weitere Gläser Flüssigkeit zu sich zu nehmen, da es bei zu geringer Flüssigkeitszufuhr zu unangenehmen Verdauungsproblemen kommen kann.
Qualität - warum werden indische Flohsamenschalen verwendet?
Flohsamenschalen können aus unterschiedlichen Anbaugebieten stammen. Flohsamenschalen „Plantago afra“ sind in Südeuropa, Nordafrika sowie in Westasien beheimatet. Schalen mit der Bezeichnung „Plantago indica“ stammen aus Süd- und Mitteleuropa, dem Kaukasus sowie Sibirien.
Die von Doppelherz verwendeten Flohsamenschalen „Plantago ovata“ werden in Indien und Pakistan angebaut. Eine besonders hohe Qualität haben die indischen Flohsamenschalen, denn die Quellfähigkeit des Plantago ovata ist höher als bei anderen Sorten.
Flohsamenschalen sind ein Naturprodukt und werden von Hand geerntet und schonend getrocknet. Ein spezielles Verfahren ermöglicht die Trennung von Samen und Schalen und gewährt so ein Produkt mit einem besonders hohen Quellvolumen.

The company history of Queisser Pharma
The company Queisser Pharma can look back on more than 100 years of company history. Comprehensive knowledge about health has a long tradition here.
The history of Queisser Pharma begins in 1897 in a small pharmaceutical factory in Hamburg. The graduate pharmacist Alfred Queisser had come from Lusatia in the district of Dresden to Hamburg to make his fortune as a manufacturer. He focused on the production of health and care products such as creams, liquid soap and toothpaste. Despite difficult circumstances, Alfred Queisser managed to continuously expand the company. He owed this to his extensive talents as a businessman, scientist and imaginative advertising expert, whom he united in one person.
The second root of today's Queisser Pharma was created by the Essen pharmacist Josef Peter Hennes. In 1919, he developed the original formula of today's Doppelherz® energy tonic from herbs and other natural ingredients. The tonic was produced and successfully marketed in the eponymous company founded by him.
Both houses eventually merged into "Queisser Pharma", which has been part of HGDF Familienholding Ltd. since the end of the 1970s. & Co. KG, a long-established Flensburg family business, whose parent company was founded in 1738 in Flensburg.

Since 1987, Queisser Pharma has its headquarters in Flensburg in the former production areas of a Rumherstellung. In addition to other brand products from Queisser, about 1 million liters of Doppelherz energy tonic are produced, bottled, packed and shipped in line with the market.
