For the supportive treatment of irritable bowel syndrome
Anyone suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) has persistent intestinal complaints that are not triggered by chronic intestinal diseases or infections.
It is a dysfunction of our intestinal tract, which reacts to individual life circumstances such as stress or worry, a disturbed intestinal flora, a hypersensitivity of the intestinal mucosa or a hereditary predisposition with a variety of symptoms.
An estimated 12 million people in Germany suffer from irritable bowel syndrome, but women are usually affected far more frequently than men.
Depending on which symptoms are in the foreground, a distinction is made between diarrhea, constipation, pain and bloating types. It is not uncommon, however, for the symptoms to occur simultaneously or alternate.
The usually unpredictable complaints can be very stressful for those affected. The symptoms of IBS cannot be traced back to pathogens or inflammations - rather, it is suspected that a genetic predisposition, possible food intolerances and an oversensitive "abdominal brain" may play a role.
The "gut brain" refers to the nervous system in the gut that controls its activity. It is directly connected to the brain - so it's no wonder that it rumbles especially under stress.
The medical product Doppelherz Bei Reizdarm contains the mineral zeolite in combination with chamomile and marshmallow extract as well as aloe vera and is used for the supportive treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with the following symptoms:
- Abdominal pain
In addition, it contains heat-inactivated bacteria. These attach themselves like a plaster to the damaged intestinal wall.
Doppelherz Bei Reizdarm absorbs intestinal gases and forms a protective film on our intestinal mucosa.
The medical product is used for the treatment of IBS, characterized by pain, swelling, bloating and abdominal discomfort, with or without a change in the appearance of the stool and digestive problems such as constipation, diarrhea or both alternately.
Mechanism of action:
Thanks to its protective mechanical action, Doppelherz Bei Irizdarm interacts physically with the intestinal mucosa:
It forms a mucoadhesive film that protects the mucosa from contact with irritants and at the same time helps prevent the absorption of dangerous substances. Thanks to a physical mechanism, intestinal gases are absorbed, reducing the typical discomfort of IBS.

The company history of Queisser Pharma
The company Queisser Pharma can look back on more than 100 years of company history. Comprehensive knowledge about health has a long tradition here.
The history of Queisser Pharma begins in 1897 in a small pharmaceutical factory in Hamburg. The graduate pharmacist Alfred Queisser had come from Lusatia in the district of Dresden to Hamburg to make his fortune as a manufacturer. He focused on the production of health and care products such as creams, liquid soap and toothpaste. Despite difficult circumstances, Alfred Queisser managed to continuously expand the company. He owed this to his extensive talents as a businessman, scientist and imaginative advertising expert, whom he united in one person.
The second root of today's Queisser Pharma was created by the Essen pharmacist Josef Peter Hennes. In 1919, he developed the original formula of today's Doppelherz® energy tonic from herbs and other natural ingredients. The tonic was produced and successfully marketed in the eponymous company founded by him.
Both houses eventually merged into "Queisser Pharma", which has been part of HGDF Familienholding Ltd. since the end of the 1970s. & Co. KG, a long-established Flensburg family business, whose parent company was founded in 1738 in Flensburg.
Queisser Pharma today
Since 1987, Queisser Pharma has its headquarters in Flensburg in the former production areas of a Rumherstellung. In addition to other brand products from Queisser, about 1 million liters of Doppelherz energy tonic are produced, bottled, packed and shipped in line with the market.
Queisser Pharma is guided by tradition and at the same time modern - with much grown experience and specialist knowledge, modern and innovative health products are regularly created.
Demand for health products has been increasing for many decades. Our headquarters in Flensburg has therefore been continuously adapted and expanded to meet the steadily growing popularity. Here many of our products are manufactured, packed and shipped in modern production lines. From Flensburg the products reach all over Germany and all over the world. To date, we have grown to about 300 employees. This makes Queisser Pharma one of the biggest employers in the city of Flensburg.
The future of Queisser Pharma
The market for health is constantly changing. Health is becoming more and more important for every individual as well as for the social institutions.
The self-responsibility for the health increases as well as the consciousness to be able to influence the health and their continuance actively and independently. Increasing life expectancy and the rising share of older people are setting new trends and presenting the healthcare industry with new challenges. For a company involved in health products, there are great opportunities for the future.
Health awareness and demographic change
A modern medium-sized company like Queisser Pharma must actively change in this fast-paced world. A change that is characterized by major market changes, which are caused not least by the demographic development of the population structure in all countries of the world.
Never before have so many people become so old, while at the same time remaining so young, healthy and actively involved in social life. The proportion of over-60s to 100 people between the ages of 20 and 60 will almost double by 2030. In 2050, 78 out of 100 people will be over 60 years old.
Health care and personal responsibility
Life expectancy increases from generation to generation. Even today, the sixty-year-olds can look forward to more than 20 more years of life. With age, there is an interesting trend towards active health care, prophylaxis and personal responsibility. Clearly recognizable is the endeavor to provide your body with everything necessary to achieve a strong and active old age. People know that they can not leave their health today alone to the doctors. They have to take their health into their own hands and act on their own initiative and responsibility.
Take one tablet twice daily between or before meals, as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

Nutrition - tips for irritable bowel syndrome
First of all: Unfortunately, there are no universal dietary rules for people with irritable bowel syndrome, as those affected react individually to certain foods.
Nevertheless, with a balanced diet and a conscious intake of foods and beverages, we can contribute a lot to a well-functioning digestion and thus positively influence an irritable bowel.
Studies have shown that the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome improve when the person concerned avoids certain foods. However, which foods trigger discomfort can vary greatly from person to person.
Complaints are often triggered by coffee, dairy products (especially fresh milk), raw fruit, citrus fruits, fried foods and fatty foods.
Fruit sugar (fructose) and sugar alcohols such as sorbitol also often cause symptoms. Apple and pear juice as well as foods sweetened with sorbitol, other sugar alcohols or fructose should be enjoyed with caution.
However, there is no single dietary therapy that applies to all sufferers.
10 tips for diet in irritable bowel syndrome:
- Eat slowly and chew everything well.
- Regular small meals spread throughout the day are easier to digest.
- Probiotic foods such as yogurt or kefir are good for the intestinal flora!
- The intestine needs fiber-rich foods such as vegetables, fruit, salad and finely ground whole grain products for good digestive performance.
- BUT: Please eat fiber in moderation, because it can also trigger flatulence. Well tolerated are e.g. psyllium, oat flakes or cooked vegetables such as potatoes and carrots.
- Beverages such as alcohol, dairy products, coffee, black or green tea are among the often mentioned triggers for discomfort.
- Drink at least 2 liters of fluid a day - still water, tea or juice spritzers are best.
- Watch out for butter, oil and co! Use fat sparingly, because it is difficult to digest!
- Simple carbohydrates, such as those contained in white flour products, sweets or soft drinks, often cause discomfort.
- Avoid flatulent foods such as onions, cabbage or legumes. They cause problems for many irritable bowel patients.
Especially if food allergies or food intolerances are known, these foods should of course be avoided.
In addition to an adapted diet, it is also important to pay attention to relaxation and exercise. Caution is advised with nicotine. Do something good for yourself and take your daily little time-outs. Exercise regularly and moderately - this can also help to reduce stress and anger and relieve your bowels!
