The company history of Queisser Pharma
The company Queisser Pharma can look back on more than 100 years of company history. Comprehensive knowledge about health has a long tradition here.
The history of Queisser Pharma begins in 1897 in a small pharmaceutical factory in Hamburg. The graduate pharmacist Alfred Queisser had come from Lusatia in the district of Dresden to Hamburg to make his fortune as a manufacturer. He focused on the production of health and care products such as creams, liquid soap and toothpaste. Despite difficult circumstances, Alfred Queisser managed to continuously expand the company. He owed this to his extensive talents as a businessman, scientist and imaginative advertising expert, whom he united in one person.
The second root of today's Queisser Pharma was created by the Essen pharmacist Josef Peter Hennes. In 1919, he developed the original formula of today's Doppelherz® energy tonic from herbs and other natural ingredients. The tonic was produced and successfully marketed in the eponymous company founded by him.
Both houses eventually merged into "Queisser Pharma", which has been part of HGDF Familienholding Ltd. since the end of the 1970s. & Co. KG, a long-established Flensburg family business, whose parent company was founded in 1738 in Flensburg.
Queisser Pharma today
Since 1987, Queisser Pharma has its headquarters in Flensburg in the former production areas of a Rumherstellung. In addition to other brand products from Queisser, about 1 million liters of Doppelherz energy tonic are produced, bottled, packed and shipped in line with the market.
Queisser Pharma is guided by tradition and at the same time modern - with much grown experience and specialist knowledge, modern and innovative health products are regularly created.
Demand for health products has been increasing for many decades. Our headquarters in Flensburg has therefore been continuously adapted and expanded to meet the steadily growing popularity. Here many of our products are manufactured, packed and shipped in modern production lines. From Flensburg the products reach all over Germany and all over the world. To date, we have grown to about 300 employees. This makes Queisser Pharma one of the biggest employers in the city of Flensburg.

|We have been able to significantly reduce the consumption of electricity by paying attention to maximum energy efficiency when renewing our servers. We have been able to reduce consumption by as much as 47% compared to the old servers. Saving electricity is at least as important as promoting "green electricity". Together with our partner Vattenfall we promote regenerative power sources (EEG promoted).|
|Sustainability in packaging starts with the consistent avoidance of new packaging material. For example, we use a high proportion of material received from suppliers - this not only reduces packaging waste, for which we pay taxes in accordance with the Packaging Act via our partner Deutsche Recycling, but also allows us to use packaging more than once.|
|Over the last few years we have replaced the old tube lighting in the entire logistics hall with a highly efficient and energy-saving lighting system with LED technology. And not only there, but also in many office rooms we use the latest lighting technologies to save our resources.|
What's coming in the future?
We have many projects. An intelligent packaging that can be used approx. 1000 times, without padding material inside and yet perfectly protects the contents is currently being tested as a pilot.
We are climate neutral
All products from Queisser Pharma GmbH & Co KG are climate neutral. The long-term goal is an even greater saving of packaging material and the use of sustainable materials for product packaging. With the savings achieved so far and the long-term reduction of packaging material, we are already making an active contribution to environmental and climate protection.
Carbon dioxide is emitted during the production of packaging, and we intend to further reduce the amount of this in the future. Unfortunately, it is not possible to completely avoid CO2 emissions during production. Together with our climate expert ClimatePartner, we fully compensate for this burden on the environment by promoting sustainable projects.
We are continuously working on a solution to offer more environmentally friendly packaging materials for our products.
Ingredients and sustainability
For our products, the high quality of the ingredients is the highest criterion. Various quality seals and standards confirm the purity and sustainability of the raw materials and ingredients.
The PureMax* seal certifies that the sea fish oil is of high quality and sustainable. The omega-3 fatty acids are also produced with special care to ensure purity. Only fish from sustainable fisheries are used to produce the concentrate. Regular checks and assessments of the concentrates and also of the prescribed quality parameters confirm the extremely high quality of the omega-3 concentrate.
