Amino acids - important protein building blocks for the body
Amino acids are the smallest basis of proteins and are contained as a building block in all body cells. They are considered indispensable for numerous metabolic processes, including the transport and storage of nutrients.
The need for amino acids depends on several factors and can increase with physical exertion, an unbalanced diet or stress.
Humans absorb various proteins through their diet, for example meat, fish, eggs or soy. In the body, these proteins are broken down into their components, known as amino acids, and then converted back into body protein according to a specific blueprint. In this way, dietary protein is turned into structure-forming body protein. This is why amino acids are also known as the "building blocks of life".
The human body consists of hundreds of proteins. However, only 21 amino acids are needed to build the body's own proteins. Basically, these amino acids can be divided into essential (cannot be formed by the body itself) and non-essential (can be formed by the body itself) amino acids.
Doppelherz Amino Acids Vital supplies all 9 essential amino acids with L-valine, L-leucine, L-isoleucine, L-threonine, L-methionine, L-phenylalanine, L-tryptophan, L-lysine and L-histidine.
In addition, the amino acid L-arginine is included, which the body cannot produce in sufficient quantities in certain situations of need and stress conditions. Furthermore, one capsule contains the non-essential amino acids L-tyrosine and L-cysteine.

Can the need for amino acids be increased?
Our body needs regular and sufficient protein, as it can only store it in small quantities. The amount of protein we should consume depends on our body weight.
The German Nutrition Society recommends around 0.9 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. Thus, the protein requirement of a person with, for example, 70 kilograms of body weight would be 63 grams.
Certain life circumstances, such as stress or heavy physical exertion, can increase the need for protein.
Physically active people should therefore adjust their protein requirement to the respective stress level and consume more protein accordingly.
The requirement is also increased during pregnancy and breastfeeding, because the unborn or breastfed child must be supplied with vital proteins.
With increasing age, the daily calorie requirement decreases, but the protein requirement remains unchanged, since our body needs the protein proteins to compensate for possible tissue losses.

The company history of Queisser Pharma
The company Queisser Pharma can look back on more than 100 years of company history. Comprehensive knowledge about health has a long tradition here.
The history of Queisser Pharma begins in 1897 in a small pharmaceutical factory in Hamburg. The graduate pharmacist Alfred Queisser had come from Lusatia in the district of Dresden to Hamburg to make his fortune as a manufacturer. He focused on the production of health and care products such as creams, liquid soap and toothpaste. Despite difficult circumstances, Alfred Queisser managed to continuously expand the company. He owed this to his extensive talents as a businessman, scientist and imaginative advertising expert, whom he united in one person.
The second root of today's Queisser Pharma was created by the Essen pharmacist Josef Peter Hennes. In 1919, he developed the original formula of today's Doppelherz® energy tonic from herbs and other natural ingredients. The tonic was produced and successfully marketed in the eponymous company founded by him.
Both houses eventually merged into "Queisser Pharma", which has been part of HGDF Familienholding Ltd. since the end of the 1970s. & Co. KG, a long-established Flensburg family business, whose parent company was founded in 1738 in Flensburg.

Since 1987, Queisser Pharma has its headquarters in Flensburg in the former production areas of a Rumherstellung. In addition to other brand products from Queisser, about 1 million liters of Doppelherz energy tonic are produced, bottled, packed and shipped in line with the market.
Queisser Pharma is guided by tradition and at the same time modern - with much grown experience and specialist knowledge, modern and innovative health products are regularly created.

What are essential amino acids?
Amino acids can be divided into essential and non-essential amino acids. In contrast to non-essential amino acids, essential amino acids cannot be formed by the body itself. Therefore, we must consume them in sufficient quantities through food.

Which foods contain a lot of amino acids?
Since amino acids are building blocks of proteins, it stands to reason that protein-rich foods are rich in amino acids. Of course, animal foods come to mind first as a good source, but there are also many non-animal products that can ensure an adequate supply of amino acids.
Meat, poultry, seafood:
Lean raw meats (especially beef) are foods with the highest protein content. For example, 100 g of lean beef contains about 30 g of protein, or 100 g of tuna contains about 22 g of protein. As a general rule, the protein content decreases as the fat content increases.
Dairy products:
