Why is Anti Brumm so effective?

Unlike many other insect repellents, Anti Brumm® Classic contains 20 percent of the active ingredient Icaridine. This is a synthetic ingredient which has an excellent repellent effect (defence effect). With regard to its effectiveness against mosquito and tick bites, Icaridin is comparable to the DEET which has been tried and tested for many years. Icaridine is recommended as particularly effective by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Very good tolerability of the Anti Brumm® active ingredient Icaridin

The ingredient Icaridin is often recommended due to its good skin compatibility. Even on sensitive skin it has neither an irritating nor a sensitizing effect. Dermatological tests prove the good skin compatibility of Anti Brumm® Classic.

Another advantage: In contrast to the active ingredient DEET, Icaridin does not attack plastics and textiles. Therefore, it can also be applied to clothing, for example to protect against stings caused by thin clothing.

The fields of application

Anti Brumm® Classic reliably keeps away mosquitoes for up to eight hours and ticks for up to four hours and is also suitable for sensitive skin and children's skin*. Anti Brumm® Classic not only protects against native mosquitoes but also against tropical ones, which is why it is also a reliable companion on (long-distance) journeys.

• in your free time, for example while hiking, having a picnic or barbecue evening
• during sports, such as cycling, inline skating or walking (reapply Anti Brumm® Classic after heavy sweating)

Who is Anti Brumm suitable for?

Anti Brumm® Classic offers reliable protection against mosquitoes and ticks and is suitable from two years of age. The product contains the effective active ingredient Icaridin, which is recommended by dermatologists because of its good skin compatibility especially for protection against insect bites. Therefore, Anti Brumm® Classic is also suitable for people with sensitive skin or an intolerance to DEET (an insect repellent contained in many other products).

Icaridine and Anti Brumm® Classic during pregnancy and lactation?

In principle, there are no restrictions on the use of products containing icaridine during pregnancy and lactation. Icaridine was tested extensively in laboratory tests.

Anti Brumm® Classic can generally also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding to protect against insect bites.

To be on the safe side, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using Anti Brumm®Classic during pregnancy and lactation.

Application for toddlers and children

Thanks to its good tolerability and its active ingredient Icaridin, Anti Brumm® Classic can be used on children as young as two years of age. So even small children can benefit from the reliable protection of Anti Brumm® Classic when playing outdoors.

What do you have to consider when using Anti Brumm® Classic with toddlers and children?
The prerequisite is an economical application. Please observe the following instructions:

• For children over the age of two, Anti Brumm® Classic should be applied by an adult. Spray Anti Brumm® Classic into your own hands, rub in and then apply sparingly.
• Do not use Anti Brumm® Classic on the whole body.
• Do not distribute Anti Brumm® Classic on the hands of the child.
• Avoid the child's eyes and mouth
• Anti Brumm® Classic must not come into contact with wounds and mucous membranes.
• Anti Brumm® Classic can also be sprayed on clothing as a supporting spray.

There are no concrete data on the use of Icaridine in children under two years of age. Therefore, the use of Anti Brumm® Classic for children under the age of two should be avoided.

Insect repellents must always be stored in a childproof place.

Successfully tested by the Swiss Tropical Institute

Insect protection plays a central role when travelling to the tropics. This is because mosquito species lurking there can transmit dangerous diseases such as malaria or yellow fever.
An effective and reliable repellent is therefore indispensable for holidays in the tropics and when travelling to areas with a high risk of yellow fever or malaria.

If you want to play it safe, you can rely on Anti Brumm® (Anti Brumm® Forte (active ingredient: DEET) Anti Brumm® Classic or Anti Brumm® Naturel (active ingredient: Citriodiol®). These products have been tested by the Swiss Tropical Institute and awarded the quality seal "Tested by the Swiss Tropical Institute".

Mosquito repellent in the test

The four Anti Brumm® preparations were tested according to a proven test procedure of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute.

Specifically, the mosquito repellents were tested for their protective effect against the yellow fever mosquito (Aedes aegypti) and the malaria mosquito (Anopheles stephensi). Both mosquito species originated from laboratory breeding. On the evening before the test day, the sugar water was removed from the mosquitoes in order not to impair their "appetite". The test persons were instructed to abstain from alcohol, caffeine and fragrant cosmetic products in order not to falsify the test result.

Among other things, the test checked whether the mosquitoes stay on the treated skin surface for longer than 2 seconds or bite in and suck blood. These parameters were used to calculate the efficacy of the repellents.
