non-contact fever measurement on the forehead by infrared transmitter
- fast and hygienic
Sleep is often the best medicine! This is also true for babies and toddlers. If parents have to regularly check the body temperature of their charges during the night, they want to do this particularly gently and carefully - and ideally without waking the little ones. With the NUK Baby Thermometer Flash, this can be done without any problems, as the measurement takes place within seconds and is contact-free.
Non-contact measurement - in seconds and hygienic
The Baby Thermometer Flash has an infrared transmitter. The measurement is taken without contact by holding the measuring tip at a maximum distance of 3 cm from the forehead. The digital display shows a temperature value within one second - so parents can decide whether a precise temperature measurement with a calibrated clinical thermometer is necessary for accurate temperature determination. Particularly practical: An acoustic warning sounds when the temperature reaches fever pitch. Compared to other measuring methods, non-contact measurement is particularly hygienic.
The thermometer is not only suitable for determining body temperature, but can also be used to measure the temperature of other surfaces such as baby food or bath water quickly and hygienically. The LCD display also provides information about the room temperature.
With memory function and silent mode
The development of the temperature can be easily tracked over a longer period of time with the memory function - it is possible to store the results of up to 25 measurements. In silent mode, all signal noises of the device are switched off.
The matching lithium battery is included and the device can be used immediately
The NUK Baby Thermometer Flash - taking a temperature has never been so gentle.
What is fever?
Fever refers to a state of elevated body temperature.
"Normal" is something like 36.5 to 37 degrees Celsius (equivalent to approx. 97.7 to 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit). The highest readings are taken in the early evening. Readings vary depending on the site of measurement (mouth, armpit, anus, ear, temple, forehead).
Fever can be caused by colds, other illnesses such as respiratory infections, some intestinal infections, hyperthyroidism, or by tumors.
Symptoms and Diagnoses:
Sweating, shivering or chills are indications of increased body temperature.

Baby's skin is very sensitive and therefore requires particularly sensitive care. You can find helpful tips on skin care and the topic of neurodermatitis here:
What is special about baby skin?
Baby skin is much thinner than adult skin and at the same time the horny layer has a looser structure and is less resistant. The barrier effect of the horny layer against harmful substances is therefore less well developed, and the skin reacts more sensitively to environmental influences.
The natural protective acid mantle of the skin does not form in newborns until after a few weeks and regenerates much more slowly than in adults, even in older children. It has an important task in keeping bacteria and pathogens at bay.
The horny layer of children's skin has a higher moisture content than that of adults. At the same time, however, sebum production in children is still greatly reduced. As a result, baby and children's skin is only covered with a very thin film of water and grease and can dry out easily. In addition, there is less protection against cold and injuries.
Why use baby care products at all?
After birth, the baby's skin must quickly adapt to a new environment. After many months in the amniotic fluid, it must now adapt to the air and external environmental influences.
For a while, it was said that you could do without skin care and washing products when caring for your baby. In the meantime, however, it is known that washing with water alone dries out the baby's skin. However, since baby skin is very sensitive, it does not tolerate the same care products as adult skin.
For this reason, we at HiPP have developed our particularly mild baby care product HiPP Babysanft , which is completely free of undesirable substances and takes into account the special needs of sensitive baby skin.
A gentle dab to balance the skin.
From day one, babies need all our love. Pass on this love in baby care as well. By providing gentle care with HiPP Babysanft care products , you protect your baby's skin against external influences and help it to develop its own healthy protection.
When and how often should I apply lotion to my baby?
You should apply a light cream to your face and hands several times a day. Apply the cream thoroughly to your child's entire body, especially after bathing. The HiPP Babysanft Milk Lotion spreads gently, is quickly absorbed and restores moisture to the baby's delicate skin.
For more intensive care and for areas of skin that are exposed to the air more often, such as the face and hands, HiPP Babysanft Care Cream is just right. It is quickly absorbed and supports the stable balance of the skin.
When does my baby need special care?
Baby's skin needs special care in winter when the air is colder, when the heating air is dry and, of course, after bathing. The HiPP Babysanft Wind & Weather Balm is particularly rich and protects dry skin from drying out. In the cooler season, it also reliably protects normal skin from weather-related skin irritations. It is quickly absorbed and protects the skin naturally.
What is neurodermatitis?
Neurodermatitis is the most common skin disease in childhood and has increased in frequency by about five times in the last 50 years.
Neurodermatitis is a chronic or chronically recurring skin disease that is not contagious. Characteristic for neurodermatitis is very dry skin up to reddened and scaly eczema and usually strong itching.
What can be done?
The good news is that many children only suffer from a mild form of the disease. For this moderate form, which is often just called "sensitive, dry skin", the so-called "basic therapy" is mainly applied: Regular skin care with suitable products that supply the skin with valuable ingredients and, above all, moisture.
For many patients with mild atopic dermatitis and skin prone to atopic dermatitis, care products (pharmacy products) specially developed for atopic dermatitis patients are not necessarily required. As a rule, commercially available products are also suitable. Their compatibility should be dermatologically confirmed and ideally these care products should not contain any ingredients that frequently trigger allergies. It is best to seek advice on this from your dermatologist.
